Brad Hampson of Higher Jiu Jitsu kindly invited me to sit down with him for a podcast interview. I have spent over forty years in martial arts, and had a few stories to tell. We talked for more than three hours.
The first podcast discusses my introduction to martial arts and Kung Fu, with Sifu David Crook of Canberra, in 1977, through a maze of twisty little passages, all different, taking Wing Chun with Rick Spain commencing in 1988, and finishing where Rick and the student body, including myself, started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with John Will, in 1998. Some weird stories in here.

The second podcast discusses my training in Jiu Jitsu, from 1998 through to the present day, I trained with Rick Spain for about seven years, for nearly a year at Sinosic Perosh Martial Arts (SPMA) in 2006, and from then until now with Anthony Lange from Lange’s MMA.

The third and final podcast discusses a road rage incident and violent assault I experienced in 2018. I was not seriously injured, and believe that to be a direct result of my training. The long form news program Sunday Night contacted me for a story they were doing on road rage, and I was interviewed in detail on national television, including taking a Jiu Jitsu class with Anthony Lange and other friends. Brad and I discuss the attack itself, the whole series of events that followed related to it, and my television appearance.
